Job Title: Dental Assistant
Department: Dental Clinic
Reports To: Clinical Dental Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
Provides support to dental staff to increase efficiency and ability to provide patient care
Specific Duties:
Assist with dental procedures and documentation
Perform dental x-rays
Knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
Ability to work with minimal direction
Performs any other duties assigned by Clinical Dental Director
Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP's Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated
Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organization culture and values
Required Skills/abilities:
Training as a Dental Assistant
Able to work with volunteers and students to support the mission of St. Vincent de Paul
Bilingual (English and Spanish is required)
Experience using the operating system Dentrix is preferred
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working as a chairside assistant preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach and lift up to 30 pounds are required for this position
