Company History
Founded in Paris in 1833 by a group of young students led by Frédéric Ozanam, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul began as a small effort to serve the poor through personal acts of charity and home visits. The organization quickly grew across France and expanded to the United States in 1845, establishing its national headquarters in St. Louis. In 1946, the Society took root in Phoenix, Arizona, when a group of local volunteers formed a conference at St. Mary’s Church, later ???????ing with others to create a strong regional network. Today, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix serves central and northern Arizona through more than 80 local conferences, providing essential services such as food, shelter, medical and dental care, and support for individuals and families experiencing poverty and homelessness.
