The Austin Institute of Dental Medicine invites applications for the position of Chair of Endodontics and Senior Faculty.
This is a full-time academic leadership position for an accomplished, board-certified endodontist who is committed to clinical excellence, advanced dental education, resident mentorship, interdisciplinary care, and the development of a high-quality academic department.
AIDM is a new advanced dental education institute in Austin, Texas, established with the goal of becoming a premier center for postgraduate dental education, specialty clinical care, innovation, and professional leadership. The institution is built around a modern, interdisciplinary model that brings together specialty programs, advanced technology, faculty collaboration, and a strong educational mission.
The Chair of Endodontics will play a central role in shaping the identity, standards, and long-term direction of the Endodontics department. Position Responsibilities
The Chair of Endodontics will provide academic, clinical, and strategic leadership for the department and will work collaboratively with institutional leadership, program directors, faculty, residents, and clinical operations teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership for the Endodontics department in alignment with the academic mission and institutional goals of AIDM.
- Supporting excellence in resident education, clinical supervision, diagnosis, treatment planning, case review, and outcomes assessment.
- Promoting evidence-based endodontic care, contemporary clinical protocols, and high standards of patient-centered treatment.
- Mentoring residents and faculty in clinical judgment, professional development, ethical practice, and specialty-level patient care.
- Supporting a structured educational environment through faculty calibration, clinical quality assurance, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
- Collaborating with other specialty departments, including Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, and AEGD, to advance interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment planning.
Participating in faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and departmental planning. - Contributing to institutional policies, academic standards, clinical protocols, and long-term strategic growth.
- Supporting scholarly activity, continuing education, and professional engagement within the specialty.
- Representing the Endodontics department with professionalism, credibility, and a commitment to academic excellence.

Compensation
The salary for this position is $350,000.
Additional opportunities to supplement income through private practice activity may be available, depending on institutional needs, scheduling, compliance requirements, and mutually agreed-upon arrangements.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree.
- Certificate in Endodontics from a CODA-accredited or equivalent advanced specialty education program.
- Board certification by the American Board of Endodontics is required.
- Eligibility for dental licensure in the State of Texas.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in endodontics.
- Experience in resident education, clinical supervision, faculty leadership, or academic dentistry.
- Strong understanding of advanced dental education, clinical teaching, resident assessment, and quality patient care.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and mentorship skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, professional ethics, and academic excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience in an academic department, specialty program, hospital-based program, or advanced dental education setting.
- Experience with curriculum development, faculty calibration, accreditation processes, resident evaluation, or program assessment.
- Record of scholarly activity, professional service, organized dentistry involvement, or specialty leadership.
Interest in helping build and grow a premier academic dental institution.
